Our desire is to extend the Father’s LIFE to the world around us in a variety of different ways.
Outside of the church walls, we feel we have a specific calling to minister to the lonely and forgotten--particularly to those in nursing homes/retirement centers as well as to juvenile offenders in the prison system. We want to be obedient to the call in James 1:27 to “look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
NURSING HOMES: We currently minister to the residents at a local nursing home on a weekly basis. We also travel to other facilities throughout the United States offering hymn sing-a-longs, worship services, and lots of hugs and smiles. :-)
JUVENILE JAIL MINISTRY: We minister to incarcerated youth in Texas. Four times a year, our team holds a 3-day Christian retreat within a prison, where we pour out God’s love on the youth offenders and teach them about His plan for their lives. We then return to the prison on a monthly basis to follow up and continue ministering to these youth as well as maintaining contact through letter-writing.
We also desire to be a blessing to our Christian Community. Within the church walls, we feel a calling to encourage and serve the Body of Christ in two main areas:
MINISTERING TO PASTORS & THEIR WIVES by filling the pulpit and allowing them to take some much needed time off to be refreshed and renewed or minister elsewhere.
MINISTERING TO THE CHURCH by facilitating corporate praise and worship encounters and/or providing interim leadership.
It is our heart to be able to minister to the Body of Christ without being a financial burden to the churches and pastors we are serving. We try to live as "tent-makers" using the abilities and talents the LORD has given us to financially support ourselves.
